Chris Connelly Scottish Wedding & Event Pianist

No Piano? Digital and acoustic Piano Hire, Glasgow, Scotland, UK

If you don't have a piano available at your event location, don't worry. Chris can bring along an excellent Yamaha digital piano paired with a Roland amplifier, giving a great tone. This can provide for volumes greater than can be gained from an acoustic piano (great for events outdoors and in marquees), but means that it can also be turned down to less than the volume of a traditional piano. As a bonus, Chris can easily provide a microphone to assist with any speeches or announcements and can cover breaks with pre-recorded music.

Yamaha P120 Digital Piano Hire Glasgow Scotland UK

Chris can deliver and take away his piano on the event day with the minimum of fuss - all that is required is a single power point and there is no need to clear a large space as the entire set up is very compact.

To hear how good the digital piano sounds, please have a listen to some of the recordings on the Music or Youtube page.

Wedding Ceremony Music in Scotland for Civil, Religious and Humanist marriages.

Wedding Ceremony Music

Whether you are having a civil, humanist, or religious ceremony, selecting appropriate music can be daunting. This page is designed to help you! As a guide, you may want to select one piece for your entrance music, two hymns if applicable, two pieces for during the signing of the schedule, and one recessional piece. If you are having a civil ceremony, bear in mind that the rules are strict in not allowing any music with religious connections. Sound recordings of the majority of the suggested music are available here, all recorded by Chris. This list represents some of the most popular selections, but Chris can play other requests. Even if you can pick out a couple of pieces, he can advise as to what would be a good match.

NOTE: This page is useful if you want a fairly traditional ceremony drawing on classical music and perhaps hymns. It is also possible to choose non classical/traditional music, especially for civil & humanist weddings. For suggestions, please see the 'Music' page. Again, Chris will try to accommodate any special requests.

wedding entertainment scotlandArranging entertainment for such an important an occasion as your Scottish wedding/civil partnership can be stressful. You might be thinking about:

  • What type of ceremony music to have; traditional or more contemporary?
  • Whether to have music during your drinks reception & dinner?
  • What instruments/performers to employ?
  • Would recorded music be just as good?
  • What will live music or PA equipment hire cost and what falls within your budget?

Choosing your perfect selection of music

Imagine finding a musician who can help you choose your perfect ceremony music and then provide a lively and romantic background to your drinks reception and dinner. The most versatile instrument played by someone with experience of performing at weddings in the past but who nevertheless appreciates that your wedding is unique.

Why a live piano will enhance the occasion

wedding entertainment scotlandWhere other instruments can be disappointing when heard solo, the piano excels. The presence of a live pianist adds a real sense of occasion, and never fails to entertain and encourage guests to chat and mingle.

Where Chris provides his digital piano, you can easily choose a realistic church organ tone for some of the music - especially suitable for accompanying hymns.

Creating the perfect atmosphere after your wedding ceremony

Following your ceremony, upbeat jazz and pop creates a delightful atmosphere and adds even more class and sophistication to a champagne reception. During dinner, gentle, romantic piano continues to add ambiance and is so much better than the mere sound of cutlery and crockery. Similarly, a CD can never compare to the sense of occasion and sound quality offered by a live performance.

Chris can help you by:

  • Sharing his experience: Chris is no stranger to playing at weddings, and understands the difficulties you're having. He may well have played at your venue before and therefore know the wedding planner, the piano situation, the locations for each part of the day and so on. Although not of musical note, the following may be of interest.

Attire: Chris will usually appear wearing a suit and tie. However, he can also perform wearing a black or cream dinner jacket for more formal occasions or dress more casually as appropriate to your event.

Transport: Chris has reliable transport to ensure that he and his piano arrive when they should. With satellite navigation and old fashioned maps just in case, there is no risk of not finding your venue! All UK locations are considered.

Booking Terms: All bookings are confirmed in a written contract, and a small deposit secures any date.
